Situated in the valley of Upper Eskdale,
Christcliff is a splendid cottage with views of Birker
Waterfall south across the valley and Scafell Pike to
the North. The cottage was originally refurbished by Andrea
and Nathan in order that they could move into it at the
end of 2004 but with the birth of their second child,
they decided that they would prefer to remain in the centre
of Eskdale village, rather than in the wilds of upper
Eskdale.
Although the cottage feels isolated, it is only 5 minutes
walk from the Woolpack Inn in one direction, or 10 minutes
walk from Brook House Inn and the Boot Inn in the opposite
direction. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway is just
a mile away.
The cottage is ideally placed for some of the best walking
in the Lake District National Park with hundreds of walks
right from the door. The cottage also comes with a 13
acre wood that you are welcome to explore.
The village shop and post office, Eskdale Stores, sells
a comprehensive range of goods, including groceries, fresh
fruit and vegetables, food to go, alcohol and newspapers.
The shop is in the centre of Eskdale, about 2 miles from
Christcliff.
