From the South

Please note: if you have satellite navigation, the recommended route often appears to be over Wrynose and Hardknott passes which can be very lovely but are incredibly steep (England's steepest road with gradients of up to one in three), windy and narrow. Following this route is shorter in distance but certainly not quicker than the directions shown above.

There is parking for two cars at the house, any additional cars will need to park by the turn off to Irton Road station as the road in Eskdale is narrow and by a bend. It's best to reverse into the drive at Hazelwood to allow easy access when leaving the house.
