From the North or South

• Leave the M6 motorway at junction 36 for Kendal/Lakes.
• Follow signs to Barrow (A590).
• Turn right to Workington (A5092) 3 miles beyond Newby Bridge and follow this road to Broughton-in-Furness (10 miles).
• Rather than going into Broughton-in-Furness, stay on the A595 and go through Foxfield.
• About 5 miles beyond Foxfield you will see a turning on your left signed to Hallthwaites (by a church).
• Go left into Hallthwaites and Tenterfield is on your left at the bottom of the hamlet (if you get to a small hump backed bridge, you have gone too far).
