WOOLPACK FARM COTTAGE
Situated at the far end of Eskdale, one of the most
tranquil valleys of the Lake District, Woolpack Farm Cottage offers
very comfortable accommodation for up to six people and is set on
a working farm right by the fellside.

Eskdale is a wonderful starting point for hundreds of walks, either on the
fells or along the banks of the River Esk, which flows from Scafell
at the top of the valley down to the estuary at Ravenglass,
an old fishing village complete with a ruined Roman bath-house.
The river has natural pools for swimming and is a popular place
for canoeing and fishing. The famous Ravenglass
& Eskdale Miniature Railway runs along the valley, its steam
trains making the leisurely seven-mile journey down to the sea.

There are five pubs in the valley, three of which
are within walking distance of the cottage (the Woolpack
Inn is just a few mins walk away; The
Brook House Inn and the Boot
Inn are a 15-20 min walk away). All welcome children and serve
real ales and a wide choice of good food. The village shop, Eskdale
Stores, sells a comprehensive range of goods, including groceries,
fresh fruit and vegetables, food to go, alcohol and newspapers.
There is some reception for mobile phones on the Orange network.
